Hot and muggy. It’s monsoon weather.
16 kids. We waited until 2:15 to start changing. We were done by 2:40. More manageable.
Amaya hung by my side all afternoon. I think that hug when she cried her first week really stuck.
Ava’s pants got wet from going down the slide. Ms. Leslie said we could wait 10-15 minutes for it to dry on its own. I thought about it and if her mom came before we changed her, she’d complain that we’re negligent. Ms. Leslie agreed and we chased Ava down.
Maximus was picked up during nap, it seemed much more manageable outside without him. Just tracking Ava and Charles is doable.
Darla had very very messy diarrhea. It first appeared after we changed her, after she ate her snack. Then when we came inside at 3:30, Ms. Jodhi dealt with it all over the toilet. She called for help and I took the rest of the kids inside the classroom. She probably spent half an hour cleaning up Darla and sanitizing the bathroom.
Mr. Wayne and I changed the other six kids in the meantime.
