No Ms. Jodhi again. Eliana was awake during nap time and let me braid her hair into pigtails, she wanted to look like me. She was more agreeable today. Abigail was not at school, apparently her mom got in trouble (not sure why), and had to keep her home. Emma told me that Abigail is at their babysitter.
Emma asked me to play with her when we went outside. We built cakes out of Duplo. When other girls came to play, I got Emma to agree to let others help her build her cake, and everyone was sharing and getting along.
At the end of the day, Ms. Nadia asked me if I talked to Ms. Alex about covering her shift. I told her I hadn't, I thought she was talking to her. She said it's my responsibility to ask to make it official. I told her I'd talk to Ms. Alex tomorrow. Ms. Nadia asked why I don't ask for more hours if I'm only working 3. I told her that I know I'm not staying when Ms. Kelly comes back, so I don't really want to ask for more. She told me how hard it is to get sub jobs and that I should take advantage of already being at a school. I told her that I don't know if this is what I want to do, it's still just a transition period for me. Plus LAUSD contacted me about another Campus Aide position, so that might be where I go next. She kept pushing for me to stay at Crescent Heights, and I told her I don't know if I fit in here. I told her how I got in trouble with Ms. Champ and now I'm questioning if I'm going to get fired, if I'm doing a bad job. I started tearing up and Ms. Nadia told me not to cry and that everyone loves me and that I bring in great energy. She said she's worked for principals who yell at you for everything you do, and it's always frustrating when they roll out new regimes. She does it because she loves to be around children and needs to be available for her family. But she understands.
I also found out Ms. Nadia's 28 year old son does not have a driver's license or knows how to drive. And she's the one rushing me to get married and have kids... maybe if the men weren't being babied by their mommies.
