Crescent Heights Day 28

Ms. Jodhi was back. Peace restored.

Emma refused to use the bathroom unless she went with Ms. Jodhi, so I brought her to Ms. Jodhi's desk, who took Emma's hand and said, "I have work to do, we can't always do this." Patient but firm. It's just nice to have someone to take them to.

I felt more at ease knowing Ms. Jodhi was there, that I didn't have to resolve all the issues because I had backup until the end of the day. Also, since I was reprimanded by Ms. Champ, I feel like I don't have to try to be as efficient or strict with the kids. I'll just let them take their time, and let the other aides and teachers yell at them. This is the whole assisting part of the job.

Emma took a bracelet from the cubbies and said it was hers. Eliana said it was Sophie's and got Sophie who started crying and screaming for it back. I didn't know who it belonged to, but it matched Sophie's dress and Emma has taken Elena's crown and stuff from Ms. Jodhi's purse. I asked Ms. Jodhi to referee, she got the bracelet from Emma and gave her a gold springy hair tie, and gave Sophie the bracelet. When Sophie's dad picked her up, I asked him if that's Sophie's bracelet, if she brought it from home, he said yes. I told Ms. Jodhi and she had Emma apologize before Sophie left. Emma's sticky fingers are spreading.

Abigail was back. Around 4, when we were back in the classroom, she helped herself to the stairs to the changing table. I told Mr. Wayne that I guess she wants to be changed, so he spotted me and I changed her wet diaper. She's learning to communicate through her actions.
