Crescent Heights Day 44

I used my experience being called into the principal's office and learning to ask for help from the teachers as an example of a difficulty I've dealt with at work. I also talked about my failed programs as an RA when asked to describe an unsuccessful program or event. Everything I do in my life prepares me for the next thing.

There were 11 kids today, it was much easier with fewer kids. Ms. Jodhi started changing the kids before 2pm, it made the changing time go much faster. She also told me that she's tired of Mr. Wayne's laziness and after seeing how hard I work, she wants to delegate more to him. I'm running with that concept, of course checking with Ms. Jodhi first, to which she replies with thumbs up or yes, girl! Like when Mr. Wayne stayed inside while Lily ate her snack and the rest of us were outside, I asked Ms. Jodhi if Lily can eat outside so Mr. Wayne can be outside with us, and she loved it. She also told him to change Maximus when we brought them inside, so I didn't have to.

We were successful containing the kids on our side of the yard. For a good chunk of time, we had the yard to ourselves, so we let the kids go on the apparatus. When Ms. Sosie left at 3pm, Ms. Leslie ran over to replace Ms. Sosie helping me block the end of the apparatus area, and I asked her if we could bring the kids back. She said it's ok as long as we're watching them, and I told her that I want to move them back before the other classes come out and I get yelled at. She agreed and we got them back on our side of the yard. I'm feeling more confident about my place at the school, like I have a voice of an equal after 10 weeks. 

Ms. Nadia asked if I had plans after work or if I was going straight home. I told her I'm going home, but I had a job interview this morning. When she found out it was Culver City Parks n Recreation, she said her son worked there once and did not like it... but he was only 14 at the time. She said if I stayed for a year as a sub, then I automatically get 8 hour shifts. I don't want that. It's funny how she's negative about our job, but also about any other job.
