Crescent Heights Day 16

Ms. V thanked me for "saving" her last week; She reminded me of when she picked the lavender and the girls got in trouble for picking flowers and said they were doing what she did. She said she regret picking the lavender and was so thankful that I told them, "teachers have different rules than kids," which resolved the issue. Ms. V said I had her back, and I said we're all here to support each other and her thanks made me feel validated that I know what I'm doing here!

I needed Ms. V today, Emma was having a crying, whiny day. She wouldn't let go of my hand, and her sister, Abigail, needed to hold my other hand. They'd cry when I tried to release myself, so I dropped them off with Ms. V, and Emma began sobbing. Ms. V had Emma sit with her for a nice long time.

This week, the most tiring kid is Abigail. She can't speak words, she only grunts, points and says Mama. I asked Ms. Leslie how old she is, she turned two about a month ago. She comes in the morning with her pacifier, which they're not allowed to have, so it goes straight into her box. Abigail comes to me and grunts and I tell her I can't understand her, she needs to use words, I want to know what she's saying. Mom says that Tom was like that, he didn't talk for a long time and got by with pointing and grunting, and at that young age, they don't understand or comprehend rules or consequences.

Abigail tripped over her feet, onto her knees at least four times today. She started crying after each fall and different teachers took turns telling her to get up and dust herself off and stop crying. It's like we're training her to be at school, a year before she's meant to start.
