Crescent Heights Day 35

Mild day, probably because we had all of the regular teachers and aides in attendance.

Luca wet his cot. Ms. Jodhi was in the bathroom with a crying Abigail when Luca was changing out of his pull-up. She told me to let him to do it himself, he will let me do it for him but he knows how to do it himself. He slowly ripped off the sides and took it off. I took it from him and started helping him with his clothes and Ms. Jodhi popped back in and said not to help him, he can do it himself. I thought she was just talking about the diaper, because Luca gets upset when he doesn't do it himself. But no! Ms. Jodhi said that we can't spend so much time changing them, and Luca is going to a new school next week, he has to change himself. I agreed, and left the clothes for Luca and stood in the doorway.

He took soooo long to take off his clothes. It makes me wonder if he's doing it on purpose to get me to help him. He decided to strip down to naked before putting on clean clothes. By then, Ms. Jodhi was inside the classroom, and I didn't like having a naked child standing in the bathroom with just me. I've been told that we have to have two spotters when kids are changing clothes, and here I am alone. I helped start Luca with each piece of clothes, underwear, pants, t-shirt, except socks and shoes he whined when I put them on. He turned the socks inside out, like Tom used to. He must have a sensory thing.

Zarah was not at school today, I feel like the playground had less conflicts without her.

Ms. Jodhi did her math lesson outside and had us back inside the classroom by 3:45, so the kids can start calming down before 4:30, when the older kids come in. Compared to when it's a sub and we're outside from 2:45-4:15 and it's anarchy.
